Aeronaut @ ACASPA Melbourne 2009

Inline Image It seems as if winter is trade show time all over the world. Why don't they hold them in summer? Fresh from two winter trade shows in Europe, we're now off to Melbourne in May for ACASPA.

ACASPA is a great way for us at Aeronaut to meet a large number of existing customers and friends all in the one place. We can discover what our customers have been doing, what's working for them and what changes and new features they need to do their work.

With that in mind, we'll be showing two much asked for features on our machines. An automatic or manual fabric feeding system and a two tool ultrasonic cutter… which can of course be also used as a conventional blade cutter. Read More »

Automated Fabric Feeder Systems

Aeronaut has released a fabric feeding or pulling system to fit on Elektron cutters. The system consists of gantry mounted fabric grippers working with an alignment and feeding system at the table end. The system can be supplied in a simple manually operated or in fully automatic versions.

The fabric feeder system can spread almost all styles and widths of fabric on a vacuum table and minimises operator workload and fabric distortion.

The time taken to position fabric on a 10 metre table ready for cutting is around 30 seconds. The fully automatic system can be operated entirely from the operator's position at the home end of the table.

The fabric feeding system is available now, and can be fitted to new and existing Aeronaut cutting tables. Read More »

One choice you have to make is whether to use a single ply or high ply cutter. A single ply machine cuts just one layer at a time, and a high ply cutter might cut a stack of fabric up to 70mm or more.

At first sight, the idea of cutting more than one layer of fabric at a time might seem attractive, but there are many reasons why this is not a good idea when working with industrial textiels and a single ply cutter will result in greater productivity and quality improvements. Read More »
