Consumables

Aeronaut automated cutting systems are mostly designed around commonly available consumables such as blades, markers, bearings, drive belts and cutting surface materials. Aeronaut keeps a good stock of these parts which fit all Aeronaut and many other cutting machines. If you're looking for cutter consumables, give us a call and we'll let you know what we can offer.

Aeronaut was started cutter users and the experience gleaned has stayed with the company ever since. We understand that in most instances, the value of a cutter is measured in the time and money saved each hour of operation. Something that becomes apparent when using cutting machinery or talking to operators is that after sales costs like consumables can really add up over time. This applies to blades and cutting tools, markers, cutting surfaces and sacrificial plastic overlay.

That's why Aeronaut uses off the shelf, disposable blades wherever possible, or designs speciality blades to a similar pattern. In many cases, such as 28mm rotary blades, off the shelf items such as the ubiquitous Olfa blade are the best tool for the job and the best value for money. Making a similar blade from exotic materials like carbide or ceramic may give you longer life but in almost all cases the increased cost is many times more than the increased working life.

Two carbide blade profiles.

There are exceptions of course. A pressurised ball-point refill makes a much more consistent line than a supermarket ball-point pen and never seems to leak or leave spots of ink. A good carbide drag blade is stiffer and sharper than a tungsten blade and can give exceptional results where other blades fail.

Whether you're using reciprocating blades, drag blades, rotary blades or our plunging blade tool, the blades are all easily swapped, readily available and most importantly, reasonably priced!

If you have difficult or tough materials or a requirement for extended blade life, Aeronaut also stocks some more durable blades.

Aeronaut also supplies Inkjet cartridges with specialised cartridges such as UV visible ink as well as cutting surfaces for rotary and reciprocating blades, sacrificial plastic overalay, pens for marking and more.
