Elektron Laser P100 + P150
The Laser for when the Cutting is Tough.
Aeronaut manufactures a range of high power flatbed laser cutters intended for work with medium to heavy weight recreational and technical textiles. Offering excellent accuracy, efficient cutting speeds, low running costs and low maintenance, these lasers are well suited to continuous production work.
The lasers in the class are all water cooled pulse lasers which offer high power levels and excellent beam quality with very low discolouration at the cut zone.
Heavy Duty Laser Cutting Starts Here.
Aeronaut's high power lasers range from 100 to 250 watts of pulse laser power. Pulse lasers are a newer technology than continuous wave lasers and offer some advantages such as higher cutting power per watt and a cleaner cut edge.
Typically, a 100 watt pulse laser cuts about 25% faster than a conventional 100 watt CW laser. A 150 watt laser cuts at about the speed of a 200 watt "all metal" CW laser. Not all watts are equal though. In real-world conditions, Aeronaut's 30 watt Elektron Vi30 cuts cruise weight Dacron sailcloth at the same speed as the glass tube 200 watt laser used by one of the world's largest sailmakers.
Higher power means more weight (and cost unfortunately!) This means that higher powered lasers are less agile than low powered lasers by a small amount. They're ideally suited for cutting large and less detailed patterns typically found in upholstery and sailmaking rather than the detailed patterns found in paraglider foils for example.
High powered lasers share the same low running costs as lower power lasers with the same low maintenance and very long service life. They're a sensible investment for a production cutting room or sail loft.
Features
Water Cooled "All-metal" Pulse Lasers
These laser tubes are good for tens of thousands of hours work and can be regassed and returned to new power levels when necessary.
Heavy-Duty Chassis
High power lasers have a long wheelbase Elektron gantry to handle the extra weight of the laser tube. They're industrial strength machines, rugged, stiff and very low maintenance.
Concentric Pen Adaptor for Accurate Marking
Compatible with a wide range of markers (ballpoints, paint markers, etc.), enabling easy marker type changes without affecting seam allowances.
Optional Higher Inkjet Head
If you want marking and cutting to be all zero-contact, then an inkjet print head can be fitted to the front plate, alongside the pen.
Advantages
Heavy Duty Laser Cutting
For continuous cutting of medium to heavy fabrics, these laser cutters are the production workhorses.
Long Service Life
Engineered without compromise, Aeronaut's high power lasers are built to last, delivering reliable performance over decades.
Very low maintenance
Elektron lasers are designed for low maintenance. The fume chimney can be easily removed for checking the lens and mirrors. The mirror draw allows the lens to be removed, checked and replaced within a minute or two. Laser exit windows are site replaceable.
Low Running Cost
The running costs of laser cutters are very low compared with a blade cutter. No blade swapping, no blade alignment to slow you down.
Industries
Sailmaking
For production lofts cutting sailcloth for keelboats to super yachts, Aeronaut's laser cutters are the tool of choice. Able to handle the light fabrics as well as the heavy ones at efficient production speeds, the low running costs and low maintenance make this the cutter for offshore cutting facilities.
Parachutes
Military and recreational parachutes are an area where Aeronaut is the dominant cutter manufacturer. With all-round edge sealing being an important requirement, a laser is the best tool for the job.
Low power lasers are perfect for canopies but if harnesses, containers and other products are cut, then a higher power laser is more efficient.
Upholstery
You don't have to be the biggest in the world to understand the advantages of laser cutting synthetic upholstery fabrics, With single ply cutter, you can efficiently cut, edge seal, pattern match and dynamically re-nest to avoid fabric faults and achieve a durable low-cost product.
Recreational Textiles
Most synthetic textiles can be cut (and edge sealed) with a laser - just not PVC. While you might not get perfect edge sealing with materials like polycotton, this and many of the textiles used in outdoor and recreational products will cut fast and efficiently with a laser cutter.

Software, Nesting and Technology
Nesting and Control
Aeronaut's Tangent software is the key to reducing fabric waste and Tangent's powerful and user friendly cutter control is essential to increase production.
Autonesting
Fast and efficient autonesting can pay for a cutting system in months if your fabric is expensive - and isn't waste fabric the most expensive fabric in your business?
Rapid Patterning
Aeronaut has developed rapid patterning software and CAD plugins to reduce the design to cut time down to a few minutes on complex patterns.
Autotracing Patterns
Aeronaut's revolutionary SiliconEye machine vision software can accurately trace and digitise a table full of patterns in seconds.
Aligning Patterns
With Aeronaut's full-table or gantry mounted machine vision systems, aligning cut profiles to patterned fabric or digitally printed material is simple.
Inkjet Printing
Inkjet printing is the fastest way to do pattern numbers, markings and reference text on almost any fabric.
